I'm 75% sure I can make it out there. I hear this conference is not one to miss.

Can't wait to see all of you again and get some fresh ideas.Eric Jacobsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08216361684596485033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36118108.post-88756173997657559652011-02-04T07:12:43.926-08:002011-02-04T07:12:43.926-08:00Thanks man. I did have the impression that there would be some sort of emergent lightning talks like that all along (the website says "lightning talks"), but I appreciate the correction.Matthewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05956714498778698672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36118108.post-22683267555653356662011-02-04T03:10:53.102-08:002011-02-04T03:10:53.102-08:00Actually, we didn't plan this all along-- alth...Actually, we didn't plan this all along-- although that's a nice sentiment. No, we intended to construct a great program and do an open call for presentations only if we couldn't fill the slots through direct recruitment. Direct recruitment worked great, so we didn't do an open call.

To our (my brother's and mine) surprise, there are people who feel strongly about the traditional call for papers thing, and they made their feelings known. So, together with the AST board, we brainstormed on this and hatched an idea for this new track.

After that, it was just a matter of getting someone flamboyant, energetic, and leaderly to take on the responsibility. There are about three people in the industry like that who I know. Since you said yes, I didn't have to try the other two.

-- JamesJames Marcus Bachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09985950531079499844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36118108.post-74882138603288607482011-02-03T08:18:54.685-08:002011-02-03T08:18:54.685-08:00I'll be there! On my last project I used a basic boring schedule to get testing done on time, but I did the schedule in a way that worked for our very "Agile" and iterative project. The other old tool used in a new way was Snagit, which is 20 years old, but saved us a week. 10 minutes on each, both with a demo. I think it would help other people solve common problems.TestyRedheadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05188851077233522202noreply@blogger.com
